Writing: Students are working on organizing their 2nd semester writing assignments.  Organized folder is due on Friday.
English: Students began their study of modifiers.  We started with adjectives today.

1st hour finally took their mid-term exam.
Spelling homework--Synonyms, homonyms, and antonyms practice.  Due Thursday.

Students who were not redlined more than three times will be going ice skating tomorrow.  Permission slips need to be turned in to their 8th hour teacher by 8:00 am tomorrow.

1st hour exam will be on Monday.

Writing: Students have end-of-the-marking-period writing assignment.  The writing is based on the movie "The Red Balloon".  The assignment is due on Monday.

The students watched the fantasy story, The Red Balloon.
Reading: Students have a fill-in-the-blank comprehension worksheet that is due tomorrow. They did have time in class to work on it.

1st hour class has the mid-term exam tomorrow.

Reading: Students began study of the fantasy fiction genre. 

Writing: Students are writing "animal letters".  They must write a three paragraph letter for one of the following scenes: a cat to a dog, a mouse to a cat, a cow to a farmer, a worm to a bird, a deer to hunter, or a horse to a cowboy/cowgirl.  They started on the brainstorming and rough draft phase of the process today. It was not assigned for homework.

Spelling: homework is due tomorrow at the beginning of the hour.

Students continued work on their Cinderella Projects in class today.  Today and tomorrow are the last days that there will be time to work on this project in class.  After tomorrow, finishing the project becomes homework.  The project is due January 10th at the beginning of the hour. 

There will be no other language arts homework this week.
