Reading: 1st hour students have a vocabulary web to complete for homework. 2nd and 3rd hours have not homework.
There will be no other homework this week. Since this is the first week of the new marking period, there are also no late assignments that need to be completed.
Students are continuing their study of the civil rights movement and the democratic values of equality and justice. This week we are learning about Ruby Bridges, a young girl who helped to integrate schools in New Orleans in 1960.
Tomorrow is "Dress Like Your Favorite Character Day". Cookie Wars begin Thursday, 8th hour.
Please make a note- the Monday that we come back from spring break is a delayed start-Rambler Day.

Writing: Students practiced writing persuasive essays. The topic for their essay was "What is the Best Season of the Year?" Essays were done in class and handed in. There is no homework this weekend.
Reading Month reminders:
1. Next Tuesday is the "Bake For Books" sale. The staff will be baking their favorite cookies and students will be able to buy cookies for $.25. All proceeds will be donated to the McBain Community Library.
2. Wednesday's dress up day is "Dress Like Your Favorite Fictional Character".
3. The "Cookie Wars" start on Thursday. Students who wish to participate in the bake-off will need to bring their cookies to school on Thursday.

Sorry for the lateness of this update. Due to yesterday's power outage, we have been without internet service for much of today.
Reading: Students read a historical account about Abraham Lincoln, pgs. 314-324. They began working on the critical thinking questions at the end of the selection. These questions are not homework.
