Students are working on a writing assignment in class this week, "How To Survive Sixth Grade".  It will be due Thursday at the end of the hour.  It is not homework.  There will be no other assignments this week.

Reading: Students read an essay about the Loch Ness Monster.  After finishing the reading, they wrote a one-paragraph essay about their opinion on its existence.

Students discussed Michigan's Adventure and received their permission slips.  $10 and the permission slip is due to their 8th hour teacher by May 29th.

Writing: Student wrote three OREO paragraphs using information from a cereal box.  They were also given a note card. Tomorrow they will present a thirty second commercial about their cereal using the information from their paragraphs.

No homework except for practicing their speech.

Writing: Students began to learn how to write a persuasive paragraph.  They will never think of an Oreo cookie in quite the same way.

  I have not been in school, so I apologize for this blog not being current.

Spelling: The substitute teacher did not hand out the spelling homework yesterday.  Because of this, spelling homework will be due on Friday this week.
