Students competed against each other with games of "Clue".  They will finish their competition tomorrow.

Spelling homework is due tomorrow at the beginning of the hour.
Mystery story is due Friday at the beginning of the hour.  Students will need to turn in their brainstorming shee with the final draft of the story.  Final draft should be in ink or typed.
Mystery book report and the accompanying note taking sheets are due May 18th.

 

Tuesday, May 8. 2012

Reading: Today was the last class period for silent reading of the book report book.  After today, all work on this project is homework.  Final draft and the accompanying worksheets are due on May 18th.

Writing: Today was the last day of class time to work on the mystery story.  Final draft is due this Friday, May 11th.

There is no other homework tonight.

Monday, May 7, 2012

Reading: Continued to read mystery novel and fill in notes for each element.  Final copy of book report is due May 18th.  Students worked on an "art mystery" on the Scholastic website.

Writing: Continued to work on the rough draft of mystery story.  Final draft is due May 11th.

Spelling: "Mystery" words.  Homework is due Thursday.  Quiz over the words is Thursday.

Reading: Mystery Book Report is due May 18th.  Students will continue to use class time to read on Monday and Tuesday.

Writing: Students continued to write their mystery stories.  These stories will be due on May 11.  Students will have more class time to work on their stories next week.

Reading: Students continued to work on reading their mystery story for their book report.
Writing: Students will be writing their own mystery story.  They began work on the brainstorming phase today.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Reading: Students finished their group project.  They worked together to solve two mysteries from short stories that they read.  Project was turned in today.  Students continued reading the mystery novel they chose for their book report.

There was no spelling homework this week.

 

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Students worked in small groups to solve the mysteries in two
different short stories.  Group answers will be due tomorrow.

There is no homework tonight, although some students may choose to continue reading the mystery story for their book report.
